Pair Blanc de Chine Monkey Lamps

$2,750.00

This is a great pair of unique mid-century Coastal Style blanc de chine monkey lamps. I believe that the monkey sculptures are German porcelain and date to the late 19th or early 20th century as there is a number to the bottom and the porcelain does not appear to be Chinese. In many cultures the monkey symbolized good luck, canniness or the trickster. In Japan, monkeys are the sacred mediators between God and humans. These lamps are highly decorated and would incorporate well into almost any setting from Coastal to period. Shades are for display and are not included.
