Jacobean Late 17th Century Tavern Table

$2,550.00

This is a very good example of a late Jacobean carved oak Tavern table. The generous 30 inch round top is an unusual feature as the majority of tavern tables were of square or rectangular form. The table was, at one point in its life, ebonized; traces of the black pigment remain in the folds of the carved skirt details and can be seen when viewing the reverse of the table. The table remains in remarkably good condition and retains its old surface. We have applied several coats of hard paste wax. One leg has a professionally repaired leg; all elements are original.
