19th Century Horse Painting, Charles E. Gatehouse (1866-1952)
This is a signed and dated painting of a race horse by the well-listed English artist, Charles E. Gatehouse (1866-1952). Gatehouse was known for his excellent depictions of horses and dogs, as well as other animals and landscapes. The painting has been recently cleaned with the craquelure stabilized. This painting would be a wonderful addition to a library or study--to say nothing of an elegant gentleman's dressing room.
